Life Transformation through Christ and His mind in us
The Spirit birthing in Christ has the nature of the enemy removed and exchanged with a new life transformation in the Spirit. Christ becomes our new life and is to live His life in and through us (Gal. 2:20). Since the mind is not transformed at the birthing, how do we have a mind transformation? How does mind transformation take place and what important things does that do for us? What do birthed sons actually manifest and who do they express? God's Word is our source, and the Holy Spirit is our teacher. He is faithful to reveal the whole truth.

LIFE TRANSFORMATION
By Dwight Davis

"Ever giving thanks to the Father, who once then qualified us for the share of the inheritance of the saints in illuminating purity. He has once then delivered us out of the authority of darkening impurity and once then transformed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. In whom we ever have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:12-14, author's translation).

First, New Salvation Life Transformation is Complete at Our Spirit Birthing
Along with Paul, we should ever give thanks to our Father for His eternal plan of love. Our Father wanted to have sons to love him and have fellowship with him and each other. We were still darkening impurity and dead in trespasses and sins (Col. 1:13, Eph. 2:1). The Father sent the Holy Spirit to convict of sin and our need of a savior (John 16:8). The Father sent the Holy Spirit to draw us to Christ as Lord and Savior (John 6:44; I Cor. 12:3). When we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that the Father raised Christ from the dead, we are saved (Rom. 10:9). New salvation life transformation is fully complete that one time at our Spirit birthing. The Holy Spirit takes us out of the kingdom of darkening impurity and transforms us into the kingdom of the Son in life, light, and love (Col. 1:13). The old Adamic sin nature in the spirit is removed (Eph. 2:3), when the Holy Spirit places the Person, Spirit, Life, Nature, and Seed of Christ in us (Gal. 2:20; Rom. 8:9; I Jn. 5:11,12; II Pet. 1:4; I Pet. 1:23). All things in the spirit have been transformed and become new (II Cor. 5:17).

Second, The Holy Spirit Can Transform Our Mind to the Mind of Christ
While everything was life transformed in the spirit at the Spirit rebirthing, the mind was left unrenewed and not transformed. This is why Paul in a considerable part of his epistles discusses mind renewal or transformation. "And do not be continually conformed to this world but ever be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and complete will of God" (Rom. 12:2). The unrenewed mind still thinks the same old thoughts just like it did before salvation. Doesn't the scripture say, that you are a new creature, "all things have already completely became new"? (II Cor. 5:17). At the birthing, the Spirit is complete. However in the mind, "old things at intervals are being rendered void" (II Cor. 5:17). Our minds at intervals must be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Only He can transform our minds to the mind of Christ.

Third, Mind Transfomation Is the Only Way Christ Can Be Fully Expressed
Mind transformation by the Holy Spirit is not an option. Mind transformation is the only way Christ can be fully released to express Himself in and through us. Paul said, "Ever let this mind ever be in you which ever is also in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 2:5). This denotes some decision making on our part. There is no question that the Holy Spirit must renew our mind. However, we need to be available. We need to be willing. We need to be open to His work. We need to love the Lord and desire Him to live in us as us, according to the Father's eternal plan. We need to choose and let the same "kenosis" (Gk.) or "self-emptying" take place in us as it did in Christ (Phil. 2:7).

Fourth, Everything that Comes Forth From a Birthed Son is Not Christ
Paul said, "Be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind" (Eph. 4:23). Otherwise we will be walking and operating in the flesh as carnal (I Cor. 3:1). We will operate just as an unbeliever. Do you mean that everything that comes forth from a believing and birthed son of God, with Christ living in them is not fully Christ? Yes, that is absolutely true. The you part of the new you that operates out of the unregenerate mind is not of Christ. Christians can still have problems. Christians can still manifest and express death to others (I Cor. 6:8-20).

Fifth, Christians Focused on the I Falls into a Downward Mental Death Path
When Christians focus on the "I" – the devil can get a place with our unrenewed mind (Eph. 4:25-32). This mind does not know that all things were completed on the cross. This mind does not function and live to the truth of God's Word. This mind lives according to self-deception. When we focus on what somebody did to us, we easily fall into unforgiveness with our eyes on ourselves instead of Christ. If we start down this path of down motivation we will move into an attitude of anger or passion against someone. This can often spins out in an action of wrath or hot anger. Over a period of time this becomes a habit and we have a root of bitterness. Out of this we develop a lifestyle that often places us in discouragement and depression. Without mind renewal or mind transformation, we can spiral down into even suicide or murder. Brothers this should never be.

Sixth, Mind Transformation Will Produce Upward Life Transformation
We have been transformed into the kingdom of light by a birthing of His Son in us. His life transformation in us will transform our mind to focus on others. This is the heart of the Christ-life. When others do us wrong, His direction in us will be to forgive. His attitude will be to honor and respect others. His Spirit action in us will praise others rather that be wrathful toward them. His Spirit will be longsuffering in us. Christ in us IS our peace (Eph. 2:14), no matter what happens. We will have Christ's joy expressed in us. Christ will express His love in and through us to and for others, instead of it being I doing things for God. With up motivation, Christ will be living in and through as our all in all. Mind transformation will produce and express this upward life transformation.

Seventh, This Earthly Body Will Be Transformed Into an Incorruptible Body
Will we ever get to a point where all we express is Christ? Probably not, since there is always a part of you that is you. However, our Father saved us to be well pleased in His Son living in us and through us. It is all about Him – not about us. One day, this corruption shall put on incorruption. This earthly body will be life transformed into an incorruptible body to make us eternally complete.
