Dear Fellow Believers in Christ, (Paul declares the Genuine Revelation and gospel of Christ in Us as our Very Life)

What is genuine revelation according to Paul's gospel? Why is the Spirit birthing of the Son in us so important? What does revelation actually mean? What does genuine revelation have to do with mind transformation or renewal? What is the link between genuine revelation with true Spiritual discernment? How does genuine revelation lead us to a love fellowship with the Father? How is our Heavenly Father establishing His Church through genuine revelation and the knowledge of the mystery of Christ in us? Father, thank you for your love and grace through your Son. May the Holy Spirit continue to open up genuine revelation of the fullness of Christ in us.

GENUINE REVELATION

by Dwight Davis

"That by way of revelation was once made known to me the mystery, as I previously wrote in brief, as to which ever reading, you ever can once realize my understanding in the mystery of Christ, which in other generations was not once made known to the sons of men, as now it was once revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in spirit" (Eph. 3:3-5, Expanded Greek Translation – EGT).

First, Genuine Revelation Always Revolves Around the Son Birthed in Us
Paul was called to be an apostle by the Lord Jesus Christ while he was on the road to Damascus with letters to bind and kill Christians (Acts 9:2-4). Why did Christ call such a man? With His great love and mercy our God is not willing that any should perish but come to repentance (Eph. 2:4; II Pet. 3:9). Even far beyond that great truth, Christ needed someone like the Apostle Paul that He could reveal Himself in Him, that would faithfully preach and teach that glorious and genuine revelation throughout the known world. The Father and the Holy Spirit were also working in concert with the Son. The Father sent the Holy Spirit to rebirth Saul into the family of God (I Cor. 12:13). Paul received the divine nature through the incorruptible seed on the Word of God (II Pet. 1:4; I Pet. 1:23). Paul literally received the fullness of Christ in Him to live in Him as His very life (I John 5:11,12; Gal. 2:20). Paul declared that in the Father’s timing that it pleased Him to reveal His Son in Him, as called by His grace (Gal. 1:16,15). Genuine revelation always revolves around the Son birthed in us as us.

Second, Genuine Revelation is Unveiling a Fleshly Mind to a Spiritual Mind
What is the mystery that Paul discusses? Paul discusses the unfolding of the eternal plan of God. This plan was born in the very heart of God in the beginning of beginnings. Our Heavenly Father wanted to have sons for a relationship and a love fellowship. In order to eternally accomplish that result, God would have to live in them with His eternal Spirit and nature so that they could relate to Him, understand Him, and have fellowship with Him. Man in his natural senses cannot see, hear, and know God (I Cor. 2:9,12). God has to reveal Himself to man by the Spirit in a Spirit renewed mind (I Cor. 2:10,13; Eph. 4:23). The Holy Spirit transforms us from operating out of a fleshly mind with the knowledge of good and evil, to the genuine revelation of the spiritual mind of Christ ever in us.

Third, Genuine Revelation is an Unveiling by the Spirit to See the Son in Us
The mystery has to be revealed by the Holy Spirit to man. Revelation comes from the Greek word apokalupsis. The prefix apo means forth from, and kalupto which means to envelop, wrap around as bark, skin, shell or plaster, to cover over, by implication to hide or conceal. So revelation means the removing forth from the veil. Revelation is an uncovering, unveiling, or laying bare – a disclosure of all facts of Divine truth. Revelation is the means that God uses to uncover and show us the mystery. At the Spirit rebirthing, we are put in Christ and Christ is put in us. The heart and glory of the mystery is that we are in Christ, and Christ is in us (Col. 1:26-28). Genuine revelation is unveiling of flesh, to see the Son in us!

Fourth, Genuine Revelation is the Source of True Spiritual Discernment
Paul calls us a new creature in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 5:17). The Son has now come to live inside of man as his very life. The Father has sent the Son to live in us as our life, our only life in Him. The Father has sent the Holy Spirit to live inside of us also to renew the mind for the union with Christ in us to fully function. The Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God to us (I Cor. 2:10). The majority of the church is still filled with a lot of doer religion. The emphasis of most programs revolve around the improvement and education of man, which appears on the surface to be practical Christianity. However, viewing God on the outside and you improving on the inside is nothing more than doer religion. It is not me having or learning faith that is important. Christ is genuine faith. It is not my witnessing for Christ that is most important. I have the Son, who is the true witness of the Father living on the inside of me, who I need to let fully come forth as the genuine witness. Genuine revelation of the Spirit will be the source of true Spiritual discernment of the living Christ, living in us as us. Christ living in us and flowing forth with His Spirit of love and witness through us is the only Christianity.

Fifth, Genuine Revelation will Focus the Church on the Life of the Son in Us
This is why Paul prayed that the Father would "give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Himself" (Eph, 1:17). The Father sent the Holy Spirit to uncover and reveal the fullness of Christ in us so that we can have a full fellowship with Him through the Son in us. We are the Body of Christ, filled with "the fullness of Him who fills all in all" (Eph. 1:23). The Father and the Son sent Paul to deliver their highest and most important genuine gospel message to the Church that Christ now lives His eternal resurrection life in us as us. The church needs to "come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:13). Genuine revelation will focus the Church on the life of the Son in us.

Sixth, Genuine Revelation Centers on the Father and His Son in Us as Us
Paul declares by genuine revelation that,"in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9). We "are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power" (Col. 2:10). Since Christ is in us (Col. 1:27), then that means the Father and the Holy Spirit are also in us. Are they not the rest of the fullness of the Godhead who bodily dwells in Christ in us? We need to come to the full "knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col. 2:2-3). Genuine revelation sees the Son in us as the door for fellowship with our Father.

Seventh, Our Father Establishes His Church through Genuine Revelation
The church needs to be grounded and growing in this genuine revelation of the knowledge of the truth, that Christ is in us to outlive His resurrection life through us. We are not saved by Christ’s death. His death reconciled us to the Father and we are "saved by His life" (Rom. 5:10). Our Father is able to fully establish his church according to this genuine gospel, and "the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery" (Rom. 16:25). Though we preach a 1000 sermons, and have dozens of programs to make Christianity practical, if we do not preach and teach Jesus Christ according to the genuine revelation of the mystery of Christ in us, we have fallen far short of genuine reality and truth!
